Vote or Not to Vote

Vote or not to vote? That is a question. The year 2020 has been full of unexpected events on a personal and global level. Mainly health realted. It is easy to be frustrated with how the governement responded with COVID-19. Especially, with the mask policy – don’t even let me go there. But, that’s not why I am writing this blog. I need to focus 🙂

Like many people I know, I was not excited about this year’s presidential candidates either and I know some people feel discouraged to vote. Right to vote, so many of us in today’s society takes it for granted. Many people died fighting for that right, so we can vote. It is like those who live in a free society take freedom for granted. Voting is a precisous right and duty.

By the way, I was set to vote for one particular candidate. I was so sure that I would be picking a less evil. Then, I listened to a respectable pastor’s sermon a couple of weeks ago. Afterwards, I realized that I was about to vote based on personality not policy. I was about to vote for someone who seemed nicer. But, it should be based on the policy not personality. Policy that are closer, more aligned with God’s rules. God gave us intrinsic moral values for our own benefit. Unfortunately, now days many people view those values as “old fashioned” or “outdated”. There have been unceasing movement for decades to remove God in public places… but why? His values are good and meant to protect us.

When you vote this year, see the big picture and the direction where you want your country to head. Vote not to vote? So, the answer is vote.
